Panic Station Preorder Closed, but You Can Still Order!

September 10th, 2011 by Admin99

Stronghold Games announces that the preorder for Panic Station has reached 500 copies sold and is therefore closed. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Shipping of Panic Station begins the week of October 17th!

For those of you that missed out on one of the hottest new games of the year, don’t worry! You can still order the game at regular price from our web store. Note that it will not include the preorder bonus item, but these will be made available at a later date for a reasonable price.

Panic Station hits shelves in early November!

About Panic Station:

A team of heavily armed troopers enter a desolate army base. The collective mission: destroy the alien parasite that lurks within the darkness. Your team has only half an hour to locate the parasite hive and destroy it. But one member of your team has transformed into a host and will attempt to infect your team… one by one.

Panic Station is a paranoia-driven semi-cooperative game in which you control two characters in the Extermination Corps sent out by the government to investigate the presence of fiendish alien life forms.

However, one of the players will become a Host. He must keep this identity secret, infecting as many team members as possible to gain allies and prevent the humans from completing their mission. Only players who carefully watch the behavior of team members will stand a chance against the infected players and roaming parasites.

Panic Station is a game of growing paranoia in which no one can truly trust anyone. Can you maintain your sanity and destroy the source of this evil?

The International Spy Museum spies “Confusion: Espionage and Deception in the Cold War”

International Spy Museum... there be GAMERS there!

In a move of international intrigue (or just great thematic connection), the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC will stock the new Stronghold Games’ release Confusion: Espionage and Deception in the Cold War.

The International Spy Museum contacted Stronghold Games after hearing about the upcoming release of Confusion: Espionage and Deception in the Cold War.  There are some gamers in their spying midst, and once they saw the reviews of the game play and the quality of the components, they wanted to have this great game in their Gift Shop.  And the theme didn’t hurt either…

The International Spy Museum opened in Washington, DC on July 19, 2002. It is the only public museum in the United States solely dedicated to espionage and the only one in the world to provide a global perspective on an all-but-invisible profession that has shaped history and continues to have a significant impact on world events.

The Museum features the largest collection of international espionage artifacts ever placed on public display. Many of these objects are being seen by the public for the first time. These artifacts illuminate the work of famous spies and pivotal espionage actions as well as help bring to life the strategies and techniques of the men and women behind some of the most secretive espionage missions in world history.

The mission of the International Spy Museum is to educate the public about espionage in an engaging way and to provide a context that fosters understanding of its important role in and impact on current and historic events. The Museum focuses on human intelligence and reveals the role spies have played in world events throughout history. It is committed to the apolitical presentation of the history of espionage in order to provide visitors with nonbiased, accurate information.

Stronghold Games’ Confusion at Gen Con and the WBC!

July 19th, 2011 by Admin99

Since Stronghold Games will not have its own presence at Gen Con this year, an exclusive arrangement has been made with the fantastic online retailer, Troll and Toad, to carry the Stronghold Games’ yet-to-be-released title, Confusion: Espionage and Deception in the Cold War.

Not only will Troll and Toad have Confusion: Espionage and Deception in the Cold War, but they will also have very limited quantities of the yet-to-be-released Survive: 5-6 Player mini-expansion, as well as an even smaller number of the Survive: The Giant Squid mini-expansion. And of course, they will have the base game, Survive: Escape From Atlantis!, as well.

Stronghold Games has made this arrangement with Troll and Toad due to the overwhelming demand and buzz generated at Origins from Confusion: Espionage and Deception in the Cold War. Stronghold Games didn’t want our fans at Gen Con to miss the opportunity to purchase Confusion before its availability at the retail level.

Quantities of Confusion: Espionage and Deception in the Cold War, Survive: 5-6 Player mini-expansion, and Survive: The Giant Squid mini-expansion will be very limited. Make sure that you visit Troll and Toad in booths 2015 and 2109 at Gen Con early to avoid disappointment and secure yourself a copy!

Note that Stronghold Games *will* be in attendance at the World Boardgaming Championships (the “WBC”) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania during the first week of August. Stronghold Games will have a very limited number of copies of these 3 items on hand there as well. Please visit the Stronghold Games booth at the WBC if you will be in attendance there.

If you can’t make it to Gen Con or the WBC, Confusion: Espionage and Deception in the Cold War, the Survive: 5-6 Player mini-expansion, and the Survive: The Giant Squid mini-expansion are all scheduled to be available at your friendly local or online game stores starting in September.

Postal Strike Affecting Shipments

June 24th, 2011 by Admin99

We would like to let our customers know that the Canada postal strike has reduced our ability to ship some replacement pieces to our customers. At present 50% of all our replacement pieces ship from Canada (to the U.S. and International locations as well), so this slowdown affects half of our customers regardless of their place of residency.

Additionally, our Canadian preorder customers for Confusion have had all their preorders shipped from our U.S. warehouse, however, these are likely “pooling” at the border due to shipment with USPS. Expect your preorder copy of Confusion to arrive shortly after the strike is resolved.

Meeting our customers’ needs has always been a top priority at Stronghold Games. We thank you for your patience whilst the postal strike is resolved.
